Longmont Police Officers responded to a series of thefts at Union Reservoir around 12:40 p.m. on Tuesday.
Three victims reported their vehicles were broken into. Two had their rear windows broken and were missing purses from the vehicle. The third vehicle was left unlocked with a backpack sitting on the passenger seat, according to the Longmont Police. The backpack contained medical supplies.
It was later discovered that the suspect too the credit cards to a local retailer where they attempted to purchase $500 in gift cards, according to police.
"We again remind drivers not to leave valuables in their vehicles. The top items stolen from vehicles in Longmont include phones, wallets, purses, laptops, firearms, tools (personal and work), vehicle registration, and insurance papers," stated the Longmont Police in a Facebook post.
