Year in review: 4-month long drug investigation led to 16 indictments

16 people suspected of drug distribution receive indictments from Boulder County Grand Jury

This year was a big year for the Boulder County Drug Task Force which was able to get a large quantity of illegal drugs off the streets.

The Boulder County Drug Task Force led a four-month drug investigation that resulted in the seizure of 30 pounds of fentanyl, 25 pounds of methamphetamine and 16 Grand Jury indictments. 

Ten of the 16 suspects were arrested on May 12 for suspicion of drug trafficking and the distribution of illicit drugs. Eight people were also indicted for violating the Colorado Organized Crime Control Act. Five individuals face charges of attempted kidnapping, robbery and aggravated motor vehicle theft.

The individuals arrested at this time include:

  • Javier Alejandro Roque-Gomez, DOB 05-20-95 (COCCA and narcotics charges)
  • Jose Guadalupe Polanco-Perez, DOB 12-13-95 (COCCA and narcotics charges)
  • Jose Alfonso Diego-Alvarez, DOB 08-15-03 (COCCA, narcotics, attempted robbery, attempted aggravated motor vehicle theft, and attempted kidnapping charges)
  • Carlos Alfonso Ytuarte-Quinones, DOB 04-05-88 (COCCA, narcotics, attempted robbery, attempted aggravated motor vehicle theft, and attempted kidnapping charges)
  • Alexis Omar Gasga-Garcia, DOB 06-14-99 (COCCA, narcotics, attempted robbery, attempted aggravated motor vehicle theft, and attempted kidnapping charges)
  • Adan Alberto Quiriarte-Jara, DOB 06-14-94 (attempted robbery, attempted aggravated motor vehicle theft, and attempted kidnapping charges)
  • Alan E Hernandez-Guzman, DOB 10-12-93 (attempted robbery, attempted aggravated motor vehicle theft, and attempted kidnapping charges)
  • Jose Soto-Aviles, DOB 11-14-93 (narcotics charges)
  • Candelaria Ramirez-Ibarra (Cande), DOB 12-18-87 (COCCA and narcotics charges)

In addition to the arrests, law enforcement officers discovered 30 pounds of fentanyl — roughly 124,000 pills, a news release from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office states. This included “blue” M/30 pills, “rainbow” M/30 pills and blue “Versace” pills, the news release states. 

The officers also seized 25 pounds of methamphetamine which included 2.5 pounds of heroin and 0.36 pounds of cocaine. Together the street value of the drugs seized is approximately $600,000.
