GG Designs to host pop-up in Roosevelt Park

Roosevelt Park will be home to a pop-up retail event on August 14 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event is the second hosted by Jen Wence and her bakery, GG Designs. The first was in Roger’s Grove on June 26, with more than two dozen local businesses in attendance.

The success of the first pop-up has seen at least 40 businesses sign up for the August 14 event, according to Wence.

“The first one went so well for everyone last time. Everybody picked up business and made great sales, so they spread the word and I had a lot of people reach out to join,” Wence said.

Bill Hazel, a local agent with Farmers Insurance, said he was looking forward to setting up his tent at the Roosevelt Park event on Saturday.

“Jen put together such a great event last time,” Hazel said. “It’s a great chance to come out to meet local small businesses, your friends and neighbors who all love to support this community.”

In addition to GG Designs and Farmers Insurance, other attendees will include food trucks, beverages, kid’s activities, makeup, clothing and more. According to Wence, there are still spaces available for any last minute businesses that would like to join the pop-up.

“Come along and join us, either to be a part of it or visit all the vendors,” Wence said.
