Mosquitoes carrying the West Nile Virus have been found in Loveland and Fort Collins. This means Longmont’s mosquito control contractor, Vector Disease Control International, will begin fogging Thursday night, Aug. 1, 2019. Ten of the 12 Longmont zones will be sprayed.

Kids need someone to believe in them in order to succeed. What if a whole city believed in them? That is what 529 Jump is all about. It is a community effort to provide Longmont children with a jumpstart in saving for their future education.

During the week of July 8-13, the Longmont Police Explorers attended the annual LEEPAAC (Law Enforcement Explorer Post Advisor Association of Colorado) conference. The conference was held at Western State University in Gunnison, Colorado.

You can hike right up to the edge of Herbert Glacier from the trailhead in Juneo, but all you get is an inaccessible view of a cliff of ice. The only way to visit Herbert Glacier, up close and personal, is by helicopter.
