Purportedly revered by the Chinook people as a trickster god, the blue jay is a colorful and noisy inhabitant in many urban settings.

This week the St. Vrain School board made decisions on several renovation and construction projects within the district. The first was to approve the selection of and contract award for a district-wide track resurfacing project.

The St. Vrain Valley School Board approved the district to apply for and accept, if approved, a grant presented by Building Excellent Schools Today (BEST). The amount of the funds being sought is $1,600,000.

The St. Vrain Valley School board approved the hire of three new staff positions. Those positions include assistant superintendent of human resources, area assistant superintendent and executive director of student support services.

Wednesday night the St. Vrain Valley School Board approved the purchase of network switches, access points, controller licenses and phones for the amount of $521,420.85 to Venture Technologies.
