Boulder County opened applications for housing vouchers on Feb. 8. The county has chosen 100 people to receive new vouchers.
Around 2,000 households applied to receive a slot among the 100 housing vouchers the county had available this year. All the applicants were entered into a lottery. The county determined whether the selected applicants were eligible and are ready to award vouchers.
“Federal housing assistance such as these vouchers is limited for each community that receives them, and in Boulder County — as in many other places across the country — the need far outweighs the available financial support,” Jim Williams, spokesman for the department told the Leader in an email earlier this month.
Boulder County announced Friday that its 2023 voucher lottery winners had been selected.
“This is only the first round of winning lottery numbers,” the Facebook announcement from the county stated.
Winners will receive an email or a letter in the mail inviting them to register for a group eligibility meeting, according to the post.
