Longmont Public Safety announced on Wednesday morning that a power line was down at South Pratt Parkway and Delaware Avenue, between Boston Avenue and Ken Pratt Boulevard. The department did not specify how the line became downed.

The department advised citizens to avoid the area and not to approach a downed power line.

At around 10 a.m., the department updated the public to say that Colorado Avenue to Elgin Avenue on South Pratt Parkway will be closed until at least 5 p.m. on Wednesday while crews work to restore power.

The department was not able to share any additional information about the outage on Wednesday morning, but said that updates will be posted on social media.
