Boulder County commissioners holding series of budget hearings starting this week

Virtual meetings begin Thursday with the recommended budget to be presented in October.

Residents are invited to attend a series of virtual public meetings this month and next as Boulder County commissioners consider 2021 budget requests from county departments and offices, the county announced in a news release last week.

The schedule for budget meetings and public hearing, which can be accessed via the county's Open Meeting Portal, is as follows: 

  • Thursday, 1 p.m. – County administrator and capital budget presentations (public meeting, no public testimony)

  • Oct. 13, 1 p.m. —  2021 recommended budget presentation by the budget officer (public meeting, no public testimony)
  • Oct. 27, 3 p.m. — 2021 recommended budget public hearing (public testimony will be taken and commissioners will take action on 2021 employee benefits at this hearing)
  • Nov. 10, 2 p.m. — Budget work session (public meeting, no public testimony)
  • Dec. 8, 2 p.m. — 2021 budget adoption. By state statute, Colorado counties must adopt a budget by Dec. 15 for the following calendar year, according to the release.

The above dates and times are subject to change, according to the release and residents are advised to check the calendar (filter for County Commissioners’ meetings) for updated meeting times/dates.
