Boulder County on Tuesday announced a seven-day extension to apply for the second round of Small Business COVID-19 Emergency Relief Grant Program funding.
The deadline has been extended to noon Oct. 28. It was originally set for Wednesday.
The program, which has $200,000 in funding available in the next round, “aims to provide support for small businesses that continue to experience financial hardship directly related to the COVID-19 public health emergency,” according to a news release. Funding is specifically for businesses in good standing that primarily operate in the unincorporated area of Boulder County, including Eldorado Springs and Niwot, and the towns of Jamestown and Ward. To be eligible, businesses must have fewer than 50 employees.
The next grants are intended to help reimburse small businesses for eligible expenses incurred and paid from March 10 to Oct. 15, according to the release.
Grants will be awarded in variable amounts and will not exceed $7,500.
An advisory committee will be appointed by Boulder County commissioners to oversee the funding process, according to the release. Funding will be evaluated based on applicant need and a clear indication of COVID-19 impact to the business.
Businesses selected to receive grants will be notified the week of Nov. 2.
