Centura Health faces big changes in the near future as the relationship between CommonSpirit Health and AdventHealth — Centura’s sponsoring organizations — comes to a natural end.

CommonSpirit Health and AdventHealth came together in 1996 to form Centura Health which has managed over 20 hospitals and affiliated clinics across Colorado and western Kansas.

The announcement came on Tuesday, after 27 year-long partnership.

“CommonSpirit Health and AdventHealth have both grown and evolved over the years as have the health care needs of the communities. The partnership has accomplished so much; yet, it has reached its natural maturity,” the news release stated.

The details of the transition remain unknown, according to the news release. However, both organizations are committed to “ensuring the communities they serve have access to the best health care during and well beyond this transition,” according to the release.

AdventHealth will operate and manage the five Adventist hospitals and their affiliated clinics in Colorado. CommonSpirit Health will do the same with the remaining 15 hospitals and their affiliated clinics which are located throughout Colorado and in western Kansas.

Longmont United Hospital will be managed by CommonSpirit Health.

For now, many questions still remain, however, both organizations hope to have more details available to clients and employees in the weeks and months to come.
