Limited Access and Overnight Closures at S Pratt & Boston June 24 & 25
Overnight work is scheduled for two consecutive days to complete storm sewer connections on the north side of the South Pratt Parkway Bridge.
Overnight work is scheduled for two consecutive days to complete storm sewer connections on the north side of the South Pratt Parkway Bridge. Access to Boston Avenue west of South Pratt Parkway will be limited overnight while crews work in this intersection Sunday, June 24. The following night, Monday, June 25, the intersection of South Pratt Parkway and Boston Avenue will be closed from 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., and no vehicular, bicycle or pedestrian traffic will be allowed through during that time. Detour routes will be set up on Delaware and Boston Avenue during the June 25 closure, but travelers are encouraged to use Main Street as an alternate route if possible.
Once the storm sewer work is complete on the north side of the bridge, paving and patching will begin in preparation for a traffic shift to the completed west side, where the new bridge deck was poured earlier this month. This traffic shift is anticipated for mid-July. Work will then begin to demolish and replace the east side of the bridge.
Project Overview
The South Pratt Parkway Bridge was built in the late 1970s and is too narrow for traffic volumes that now cross it daily. The new bridge will be wider to safely carry traffic and to provide pedestrian and cyclist facilities along both sides, as well as to safely pass 100-year flood flows of the St. Vrain Creek.
The bridge replacement project is anticipated to continue through September.
