Boulder County is trending down in the number of new cases according to data released yesterday.
Yesterday the county recorded only five new positive COVID-19 cases, a significant decrease from the 37 cases the day prior.
The positivity rate in the county also dropped from 4.3% on Tuesday to 3.9% yesterday.
The county is expected to enter into Level Clear on May 16. Staying in that status will depend on having less than two individuals per 100,000 hospitalized because of the virus.
As the graph below shows, Boulder County only rose above that threshold between November and January. Currently, the data shows less than one hospital admission per 100,000 people over a 14-day average.
Boulder County has vaccinated 67.9% of the eligible population.
The Pfizer vaccine is expected to get FDA approval early next week for children ages 12-15, allowing more of the population to become eligible for the vaccine.
According to the following graph, there was a sudden decrease in the number of people seeking to get the vaccine. Those numbers have recovered over the past few days.
