Front Range Community College is looking for someone to head up its nonprofit fundraising organization — the FRCC Foundation.
The new executive director of the FRCC Foundation will take on a variety of tasks including “dynamic fundraising” for the college, according to a news release. The previous executive director — Ryan McCoy — left this summer to work for Westminster Public Schools, FRCC spokeswoman Jessica Peterson said via email.
The position pays between $95,000 to $105,000 annually and is an on-campus position with an opportunity for hybrid remote work, according to the FRCC job listing.
The FRCC Foundation provides student scholarships, direct support to academic and career-technical programs and funding for capital projects that include high-tech facilities and state-of-the-art equipment, according to a FRCC news release.
The executive director sets the example for dynamic fundraising, supporting the college’s growth and development, while ensuring successful alignment with FRCC’s mission and strategic plan, the news release states. As a member of the college leadership team, the executive director works in partnership with FRCC’s president, cabinet and the foundation’s board of directors, the news release states.
According to the news release, FRCC is looking for a leader member who will:
- Identify, cultivate, involve, solicit and steward donors to the college. Proactively work to identify fundraising priorities and prospective donors. Plan, coordinate and assure implementation of strategies to develop donor contributions in support of the college.
- Function, in part, as a major gifts officer for selected key donors by implementing a strategic development approach by identifying potential donors’ financial ability, capacity and interest in making major gifts.
- Proactively assist in the foundation’s growth and development—and ensure its successful coordination with the FRCC mission, vision and strategic plan. Collaborate with leadership in developing long-range strategic plans for the FRCC Foundation, as well as opportunities for partnership with fundraising campaigns, activities and events.
- Develop and foster industry partnerships and community relationships to support college fundraising efforts and to cultivate potential donors, board members and other supporters of the college.
- Provide overall leadership, direction and management of the FRCC Foundation board of directors. Responsible for communicating effectively with the board and providing timely and accurate information necessary for board members to function as a team and make informed decisions. Serve as the key liaison between the foundation board and the college to ensure the mission is fulfilled through programs, strategic planning and community outreach.
- Develop and implement an effective internal and external communication program and oversee the development of written materials including appeal letters, donor communications, newsletters, annual reports and the foundation web site. Creates a strong program of donor stewardship, recognition and engagement and inspires an environment that is conducive to fostering increased private giving and donor loyalty.
- Continue the development of alumni outreach efforts and develop new plans and communication methods for effectively engaging FRCC alumni.
- Oversee effective and compliant foundation business and operations management, ensure fiscal integrity as well as ensuring maximum resource allocation and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position. Provide oversight of the internal controls and processes to ensure the accuracy of financial information and efficiencies in administrative systems; including budgeting, accounting, investments, annual audit, and banking. Ensures that all donations are effectively accounted for, invested wisely and spent as the donor intended.
- Oversee scholarship awards and disbursement and tracking of funds, including creating awareness for students, faculty and staff of scholarship opportunities.
- Ensure that foundation activities are coordinated with college events and activities, and support campus activities as appropriate.
- Lead and supervise the FRCC Foundation’s staff, creating a high-functioning team that works collaboratively with other key FRCC departments, including Financial Aid and Fiscal Services. Establishes a positive atmosphere in which high quality programs and services are delivered.
