The Longmont City Council will not be in session tonight because of the first day of school in St. Vrain Valley School District.
When the council created its calendar early this year, members chose to take off Aug. 18 because it coincided with the start of the new school year, said city spokesman Rigo Leal.
Council is expected to have its regular meeting on Aug.25. The agenda, when it is available, will be posted here.
