The Village at the Peaks is now 98% full and is welcoming some new businesses.

The shopping center opened eight years ago with the Regal Theatre as its main attraction. Over the years it has filled with other businesses such as Whole Foods, Burlington and Gold’s Gym, to name a few.

Since January,  the center has welcomed several more businesses to the family, said Renatta Banning, marketing director and property manager for Village at the Peaks.

Tiffin’s India Cafe opened in January and has a decade-long history of family-owned locations.

In May, Cookie Cutters — a children’s haircut salon — and Kung Fu Tea — a boba tea shop — are expected to begin welcoming customers in.

"When I got a chance to open this business, I knew the Village at the Peaks would be the perfect area because it’s up and coming, safe, and above all family friendly. I’m thrilled to be a part of the Village at the Peaks," said Kung Fu Tea owner, Tamding Chophel.

Stretch Lab opened recently. The new shop is a unique wellness concept that offers customized assisted-stretch sessions, said owner Jackson Buell.

The transition into Village at the Peaks has been “fantastic,” Buell said.

“We have built relationships with some of the other businesses in the center to offer discounts to people that are already coming here, the reception has been wonderful,” he explained.

The wellness center chose the Village because of its connection to the community and the mix of other businesses in the center.

“We really love interacting with the community and this seemed like a great place where people were already coming to do just that,” Buell said.

Banning expects Spitz Mediterranean Street Food to open in late June to July. The restaurant will take the space formally occupied by Marco’s Pizza, next door to the theater.

In March, the shopping center lost one of its retail businesses, Tuesday Morning, after the company filed for bankruptcy.

Banning said that the open spaces in the shopping center have prospects, butno leases have been signed as of yet.

“I think the future is going to be amazing, I really do. I think we have finally found our mix of tenants that we want at Village at the Peaks and I think it is only going to get better. The synergy is here, the energy is here, we’re going to continue all of the events,” Banning said.
