Longmont Police on patrol

Longmont Police are looking for witnesses of a reported road range incident at the intersection of Third Avenue and Hover Street, Saturday about 9:10 p.m.

The incident occurred between drivers of a black sedan and white sedan traveling southbound on Hover, according to a post on the Longmont Public Safety Facebook page.

Police are asking that if anyone witnessed the incident or who may have captured video to contact the Longmont Emergency Communication Center at 303-651-8501 and reference Longmont Police #22-2415.

Police say if you are the victim of a road rage incident to consider the following:

• Stay away. Safely change lanes, gradually slow down or even exit the road you are on to keep a safe distance from the aggressive driver.

• Don’t reciprocate. Ignore the temptation to respond to the other driver.

• Don’t stop. Stopping could lead to a confrontation, which could be dangerous. If necessary, call 9-1-1 and report your location. Drive towards the closest police department, provide your direction of travel to the 9-1-1 center. This allows officers heading in the direction of the incident.
