At least 20 Longmont-area businesses and organizations are exempt from Boulder County Public Health’s Indoor Mask Order, after meeting three basic requirements under the county’s Vaccine Verified Facility program.

  • Applicants must have a written policy requiring proof of verification for all individuals entering the indoor space (visitors, guests, employees, staff, etc).
  • Applicants must have 95% of all individuals vaccinated.
  • Applicants must have other mitigation strategies if needed.

Approved Fully Vaccinated Facilities and Events may allow individuals within the approved indoor public space to remove their masks, according to the Boulder County Public Health COVID-19 website.

The exempt organizations in the Longmont area include Primitive Beer (a brewery), Colorado Horse Rescue, Begin Fitness Studio, Longmont Public Media, Creative Learning Systems and the Longmont Indoor Soccer Gym. Also earning exemptions are the Longmont Symphony Orchestra and the single-event Boulder Bach Festival, according to Boulder County Public Health.

The Hair Salon at 700 Pratt Boulevard and Longmont Downtown Development Authority are both listed three times as members of the Vaccine Verified Facility program, according to the health department.

The mask order, approved by the county Board of Health on Sept. 2, requires mask wearing in all indoor public spaces for individuals 2-years-old and older regardless of vaccination status, according to Boulder County Public Health’s COVID-19 website.
