Under the new contract, Longmont will pay Boulder AIR nearly $465,000 to continue air monitoring at Vance Brand Municipal Airport and at a site near Union Reservoir through Dec. 31, 2021.

“We are at a moment right now where Congress is the only governmental entity that can really provide the relief that’s needed for Colorado families and people across the country,” said Eliot Goldbaum, director of strategic communications for the Colorado Fiscal Institute. “The scope and scale of what we’re seeing is something we’ve never seen before.”

Starting Sept. 8, the library will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 1 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. The children’s and teen’s sections, which currently are open three hours a day Monday through Saturday, will be open the same hours.

"The truth is that prairie dogs and other native wildlife were here first, before the advent of farming, ranching and recreation," said Bowman.

Initiative 283 would provide 12 weeks of paid family or medical leave. Businesses with 10 or more employees would pay a premium equal to about 0.9% of an employee’s wages into a state-run insurance program, up to half of which could be taken out of the employee’s paycheck.

The spraying will take place at Jim Hamm Park, Union Reservoir,  Great Western/Mill Village and Stoney Ridge/ Alpine Elementary, according to a city news release.
