Longmont plans to continue snow removal operation, clearing roads and applying chemical treatment to assist with melting and traction throughout the day and into Monday evening.
Roads as of shortly before 8:45 a.m. were snow packed on lower traffic-volume streets, according to email from the city sent at 8:42 a.m. Collector streets and arterial roads had a mix of snow-packed surfaces and wet or slushy conditions, according to the email.
The forecast for Monday calls for frigid temperatures, with afternoon highs reaching the mid-teens, according to the city email, which also stated the sun is supposed to make an appearance, which will assist in further melting as the day progresses.
The city is asking motorists to exercise caution on overpasses and bridges, and at intersections.
