June 17, 2025—The Silicon Flatirons Center for Law, Technology, and Entrepreneurship at the University of Colorado Boulder Law School will host a timely and nationally significant conference exploring the future of space as a shared and sustainable resource.
The two-day event, Challenges in Sustaining Space as a Resource, will bring together a diverse panel of the most influential voices in space policy, communications regulation, and commercial satellite operations. Participants will examine urgent issues around orbital congestion, satellite coordination, RF spectrum allocation, space debris, and more.
"This conference examines crucial issues as commercial space activity quickly outruns existing space regulations,” said Brad Bernthal, associate professor of law and director of the Silicon Flatirons Center for Law, Technology and Entrepreneurship at CU Boulder. “Silicon Flatirons is proud to host a conference about an urgent set of questions at an important time for space and technology policy."
This marks a major milestone for both the advancement of national space sustainability policy and for the University of Colorado Boulder’s leadership in space law and technology governance.
