National Night Out, a nationwide event promoting positive police/community interactions, occurred on August 5 in Longmont, drawing around 400 community members.

As part of Longmont Arts Week, eight artists will be chosen to paint a disco-themed five-foot-by-three-foot cement board to be placed on different trash enclosures in alleyways in the city.

On Saturday, August 9 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., the City of Longmont will sponsor a free landfill drop day at the Front Range Landfill — one of two events it sponsors each year.

Motus Theater will host a visual arts exhibition and performance on Saturday, August 9 in Boulder, telling the stories of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). The performance will be preceded by a ‘Know Your Rights’ training session hosted by Boulder County District Attorney Michael Dougherty.

The City of Longmont will celebrate National Night Out, an annual, nationwide event, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on August 5 in order to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.

Construction in downtown Longmont will change the route of the annual Boulder County Fair Parade, which will occur on August 2 at 10 a.m.

The expansion of the Longmont Museum will bring a new children’s gallery with interactive play spaces, a larger feature gallery for adult-focused art exhibits, and a redesigned permanent history gallery.
