The 51-year-old man who died last week after an Aug. 25 stabbing near the 1400 block of Dry Creek Drive was identified Wednesday by the  Boulder County Coroner’s Office as Mark Johnson of Longmont.

Johnson died early Friday morning at a Denver area hospital, according to Longmont police.

An autopsy has been completed and the cause and manner of death are pending further investigation, according to the coroner’s office.

Johnson, who was believed to be a transient according to police, was found with multiple stab wounds at 10:45 p.m. Aug. 25 by officers who were responding to a call for a welfare check and a possible shooting.

“Longmont Public Safety has continued to work this investigation and has developed several possible suspects.  As with any significant investigation, we are diligently working all leads, but we still need the publics' help,” Jeff Satur, deputy chief of Longmont Police Services, stated in a news release last week.

Anyone with information about the incident or who might have seen the stabbing is asked to contact Detective Cody Clark at 303-774-4392 or Detective Sgt. Matt Cage at 303-651-8520.
