The voting methods in Colorado are customary and date back to 2013, when the all-mail ballot system went statewide for all elections. Yet Democratic Secretary of State Jena Griswold and county clerks from both parties now find themselves defending a system that was added as an option for Colorado counties back in 1993.

Initiative 283 would provide 12 weeks of paid family or medical leave. Businesses with 10 or more employees would pay a premium equal to about 0.9% of an employee’s wages into a state-run insurance program, up to half of which could be taken out of the employee’s paycheck.

The “She is Me” virtual happy hour and panel discussion on Wednesday will focus on stories of league members shared through a photojournalism project of the same name. It also will celebrate Women’s Equality Day, which marks the anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote. 

The St. Vrain and Left Hand Water Conservancy District, made up primarily of Boulder County, is asking voters for more money for the first time in 50 years.

For Trump, 10% of his donations came from Colorado Springs, with about 9% from Denver. Aurora, Castle Rock, Grand Junction and Longmont also making his top 10 list, but that’s not the same for Biden. About 27% of Biden’s cash comes from Denver, with another 15% from Boulder. Aspen, Lakewood and Steamboat Springs are on the Democrat’s list of top donor cities.

The Boulder County Elections Divison on Tuesday will hold a lot drawing to determine the order of commissioner candidate names on the ballot for the Nov. 3 General Election.

“Over 1.6 million Coloradans voted in this year’s state primary election, which set a turnout record even in the midst of a global pandemic,” Secretary of State Jena Griswold stated in a news release. 

Risk-limiting audit and reconciliation process are complete, with Republican Party representatives on the Canvass Board declining to sign the documentation, per the Boulder County Elections Division.

“The risk-limiting audit is a test that helps ensure the accuracy of election results and provides the public with evidence that election outcomes reflect the votes cast by voters on their ballots,” the Elections Division stated in a Thursday news release.
