Feb. 25 was a day of celebration at UCHealth Longs Peak Hospital as they said goodbye to the hospital’s retiring founding president, Dan Robinson, and welcomed the new president, Lonnie Cramer.

On Tuesday evening, February 26, Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation was welcomed in the The Longmont Area Chamber of Commerce (LACC) with a ribbon cutting celebration.

Longmont’s hidden treasure is expanding again. The Hidden Treasure 2 at 2330 North Main Street is Longmont’s only consignment store for craft supplies and handmade goods. Owners Sandra Noonan and Betty Aldrich purchased the store in May 2017 from the original owners and are now on their second expansion to include a new Artisan Marketplace.

Formally, La Vita Bella was primarily a coffee shop. Now it features a full menu, a bar and a community/mixed-use space called The Renaissance Room. Currently, La Vita Bella is working to fine-tune their menu but they are keeping customers of all ages in mind while they tailor their menu.

On Thursday, Feb. 21, Wibby Brewing released the first beer of their new RIPL (Rotating IPL) Series. The new beer is called Sir Citra-ness and is a yellow, medium-bodied, hoppy lager.

During Tuesday night's Longmont City Council study session, council directed city staff with a vote of 6-1 to move forward with the prospect of implementing an impact fee deferral program for new residential construction until the time of Certificate of Occupancy. The implementation of the program would require a change to the city’s current ordinance.
