The grant program, which the county is administering in partnership with local governments and nonprofits, is limited to restaurants, caterers, movie theaters, gyms, recreation centers and bars, including breweries, wineries, and distilleries.

Even with a dip at the end of the year, Longmont saw an 11% increase in overall home sales from 2019, when 1,275 homes were sold. 

La Momo Maes Bakery and the Hover Community have partnered for a bake sale, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the local nonprofit senior living organization that offers independent and assisted living at three Longmont campuses.

The program is good news for businesses that have been battered by the coronavirus pandemic and ensuing restrictions on capacity and services. Certification under the program will, in most instances, allow them to double their capacity.

Those eligible include preschool through 12th grade classroom teachers, child care workers, paraprofessionals, bus drivers, safety workers, and others who provide services in public schools. About 120,000 people are in this group, state officials said.

Nine district teams competed in this year's CyberPatriot competition, with two ranking in the top 20% in the third round on Jan. 22.

The grant will be used to purchase protein and produce from Colorado vendors, supporting local residents and local vendors.
