On Tuesday night, Longmont City Council unanimously passed ordinance O-2018-30 which approves a new lease of Vance Brand Airport’s hangar parcel H-32.

DEATH On August 14, 2018 Longmont Police Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Homestead Parkway in reference to a welfare check. A 63-year-old female was found deceased of apparent natural causes. The case is closed.

Monday, August 13, 2018 BURGLARY An employee of a Longmont, CO business located in the 200 block of S. Main Street reported an attempted burglary. The case status is closed due to lack of suspect information.

The St. Vrain Valley School Board meeting was canceled for August 15, 2018. No reason was given on the school district's website for why it was canceled. The website did state that, "this Meeting was cancelled by the Board of Education President.

Twelve members of the Longmont Police Department gathered at Ziggi's Coffee, located at 1139 Francis St., on Sunday, August 12 to chat with Longmont residents during Longmont's first Coffee with A Cop event.

Every Sunday, since July 2014, weather permitting, Public Safety Chief Mike Butler and Dan Benavidez take a walk around Longmont, visiting different neighborhoods. The goal of this walk is to meet the people of Longmont and get to know its residents.
