HOPE developed the SafeLot program to allow homeless families to safely live in their vehicles while they work and look for permanent homes.

By a unanimous vote Tuesday night, city council agreed to an amendment to a pact with the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District to gauge the presence and concentrations of pharmaceuticals, personal care products, hormones and pesticides in water sources.

The legislation would ask private insurance companies to reduce their premium rates for individual plans by 20% of what they are now by the end of 2024. If they don't meet that target, a nonprofit state-administered plan that sets price limits would kick in.

Warmer weather has brought some relief to concerns, but many remain on high alert this year after 11 people have been killed this winter. That’s just one death away from the record set in 1993. Experts say there are multiple reasons for the uptick, but many in the outdoor industry think it could be caused by more people in the backcountry.

Pressure on the CDC has come from advocates and some experts who argue that any benefit of the 6-foot requirement is far outweighed by the resulting downsides of remote instruction for students. Pressure is already coming from the other side, too, with a prominent teachers union leader warning against revamping the guidance.

Jennifer Norr, president of the Women in Pensions Network, said women more often work part-time jobs than men, making them less likely to have a retirement plan through the workplace. Women also are more likely than men to leave the workforce to care for children or other family members, which Norr said impacts their ability to save for retirement.
