The program is good news for businesses that have been battered by the coronavirus pandemic and ensuing restrictions on capacity and services. Certification under the program will, in most instances, allow them to double their capacity.

Those eligible include preschool through 12th grade classroom teachers, child care workers, paraprofessionals, bus drivers, safety workers, and others who provide services in public schools. About 120,000 people are in this group, state officials said.

Nine district teams competed in this year's CyberPatriot competition, with two ranking in the top 20% in the third round on Jan. 22.

The grant will be used to purchase protein and produce from Colorado vendors, supporting local residents and local vendors.
