In late 2018, Longmont United Hospital began to offer another alternative in pain management for birthing mothers, nitrous oxide.

This Saturday, February 2nd, thousands of people from all over the world will trek to Punxsutawney, PA to witness a groundhog’s prediction about the length of winter and I won’t be one of them. Granted, most of the pilgrims will be from Pennsylvania, where the winters are soul-suckingly gray and dreary.

Longmont City Council discussed an update to the Main Street Corridor plan at their meeting on Tuesday, January 29th. This plan was initiated back in August of 2018, with the goal of the project being to reinvigorate the Main Street Corridor by adding to existing assets that are currently there.

So why did the Observer send me to review Young Frankenstein at the historic Longmont Theater on Main Street? I guess they thought it would expand my cultural horizons, as I do not like musicals. I haven’t seen Hamilton and I only stayed for The Book of Mormon because I was in the middle of a long row.

AUTO THEFT A Longmont resident in the 1400 block of Terry Street reported his vehicle was stolen. The case status is closed due to a lack of suspect information.

Mayor Brian Bagley officially proclaimed Friday, February 1st, 2019 to be “Wear Red Day” in Longmont at Tuesday night’s City Council meeting. The proclamation is meant to get Longmont involved in the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women movement, and to raise awareness for women’s heart health as we kick off American Heart Health Month in February.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF A Longmont resident reported criminal mischief in the 1300 block of South Terry Street. This case is closed due to a lack of suspect information.
