The annual ELEVATE Longmont primary industry survey, which has been conducted for the past 30 years, aims to “identify trends, gather strategic intelligence, understand challenges, and offer support to Longmont-area businesses,” according to a news release from the Longmont EDP.

The Chiropractic Center of Erie, first opened in 1993 as the expansion of a Boulder-based practice, has expanded again to Terry Street as the Chiropractic Center of Longmont. In addition, owner David Ehrmantraut is welcoming his son, Josh Ehrmantraut, to the new location.

In total, 182 businesses and nonprofits submitted applications totaling $2.66 million in funding requests, according to the city, which stated it will keep identifying additional funding options for eligible applicants.

The grant program, which the county is administering in partnership with local governments and nonprofits, is limited to restaurants, caterers, movie theaters, gyms, recreation centers and bars, including breweries, wineries, and distilleries, according to a news release. 

As of Jan. 1, businesses with more than 16 employees are now required to provide paid sick leave. Employees will receive an hour of paid leave for every 30 hours worked. Colorado also has increased the state’s minimum wage to $12.32 per hour, up from $12.

The Leeds Business Confidence Index for the first quarter found the needle didn’t move much from the end of 2020. However, confidence for the second quarter “improved largely on positive news about the vaccine and the hopes of a real reopening of the economy,” according to the report from the Leeds Business Research Division at the University of Colorado Boulder.
