In a preemptive move to a petition expected to be delivered by 350 Colorado, commissioners in a news release stated they decline to put a measure on the ballot for a variety of reasons.

“We just missed our patrons. We missed all our familiar faces. It's been so nice today to have people come back in,” said Nancy Kerr, executive director.

“It’s a tough decision,” said Executive Director Mardi Moore said. “It doesn’t make sense to renew a lease on a space when we don’t know when we can use it again.”

From January to June 2019, the OUR Center issued 293 vouchers for rent or utility assistance. During the same time period in 2020, that number increased to 731.

It isn’t until the patrons return to the clubhouse, don their masks and sanitize their hands the reality of an ongoing pandemic becomes apparent again.
