Longmont City Council voted 5-2 on Tuesday evening to move forward with formalizing partnerships for a potential Olympic sized pool and ice rink center in Longmont. Both Councilmembers Joan Peck and Polly Christensen voted against.

Every Sunday, since July 2014, weather permitting, Public Safety Chief Mike Butler and Dan Benavidez take a walk around Longmont, visiting different neighborhoods.

DOMESTIC INCIDENT On Wednesday 08/29/18 at approximately 2311 hours, the Longmont Police Department responded to the 1800 block of Warren Ave. on a domestic incident. One adult male was arrested without incident. Case cleared by arrest.

City of Longmont (Macie May/Longmont Observer) The City of Longmont will be closed in observance of Labor Day, Monday, September 3. Most city facilities will be closed with the exception of the Longmont Recreation Center and Sunset Pool.

On Wednesday, August 22, 2018, the St. Vrain Valley School District School Board approved both the Approval of Resolution for Lease Agreement for the APEX Home School Program and Approval of Lease Agreement for the APEX Home School Program.

Tuesday night, City Council passed a bill for an ordinance making additional appropriations for expenses and liabilities of the City of Longmont for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 2018.

FDC/CRIM TRESPASS On August 29th, 2018, a vehicle trespass report was received from the 1300 block of Garden Circle. An adult male reported vehicles were entered. Property was stolen and recovered. Case closed.

The City of Longmont and the Longmont Housing Opportunity Team (LHOT) are hosting a community conversation on ending homelessness in Longmont on Wednesday, August 29 th , from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the Longmont Museum, 400 Quail Road.

Around 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, a robbery took place at Flatirons Family Pharmacy, located at 603 Ken Pratt Blvd.
