This Week in Longmont Jan. 21-26 is a list of events that the City of Longmont would like residents to be informed of.

Gossen Bart’s Anker Beard Amber “Lager” is a play on the staple Anker Beard Amber. They took a mellow amber ale with its smooth sweet notes and threw in a dash hops.

Boulder County Transportation is currently working on a Floodplain Management and Transportation System Resiliency Study and Action Plan (RSAP) to learn from the county’s experiences recovering from the 2013 Flood, and to examine what can be done to better prepare waterways and transportation systems for future natural or economic disasters.

Today marks the 29th day of the Federal Government Shutdown. On Jan. 18, I spoke with Jillian Baldwin, executive director at Longmont Housing Authority (LHA) about how the shutdown is affecting our most housing insecure residents.

The Longmont Multicultural Action Committee (LMAC) is again hosting the weekend’s events, with generous sponsorship from Silver Creek High School, where much of the celebration takes place on Monday, St. Vrain Valley Schools, and the Lexmark Corporation providing refreshments and informational materials.

The Boulder County Parks & Open Space Department is accepting nominations for the annual Land Conservation Awards until Thursday, Jan. 31.
