The Firehouse Art Center is partnering with downtown businesses to offer creative activities, both as entertainment and as interactive opportunities, during scheduled times on weekends.

The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. and can be accessed from the museum’s Facebook page by clicking on videos. Longmont Public Media also will broadcast the concert series on Comcast channels 8 and 880 and at longmontpublicmedia.org/watch.

The Firehouse is asking supporters to view a video and like, comment and/or share it as it vies for the funding. The video talks about the Firehouse Art Center's exhibits, programs and mission. 

The Museum, closed since March, is opening with a host of new safety procedures in place and new Tuesday through Saturday hours.

Each year, candidates from the Longmont area community are nominated to compete for the Super Conductor title. This year’s contenders, who were announced at the Symphony’s Feb. 15 concert, are Denise Kloster, Craig Mansanares and Tim O’Neill.

After submissions are received, people will be able to vote online for up to five of their favorite designs to transform utility boxes.

In all-ages program, the Longmont Library is challenging participants to create haute couture from recycled materials such as bubble wrap, plastic and cardboard.

The concert, as well as others each Thursday through July 9 will be broadcast live from the museum’s Stewart Auditorium direct to attendees phones or computers.
