An armed individual was shot by at least one member of the Broomfield Police Department on June 5 after an hours-long negotiation between the distressed individual, the police, and the Broomfield Co-Response Team. The individual was pronounced dead at the scene.

The June 5 Boulder City Council meeting will be held virtually for members of the public “out of an abundance of caution” after Sunday’s attack on Pearl Street. The decision also comes after an influx of backlash received by councilmember Taiysha Adams regarding her statements about the attack.

At a celebration on June 4, the Veterans Community Project of Longmont recognized a number of milestones in its mission to support unhoused veterans. On June 12, the nonprofit will also host a community housewarming.

The Broomfield Police Department and the Crisis Negotiations Team responded to a situation in the parking lot of A Precious Child in which a suspect might have been armed with a weapon. The department said that everyone inside the building is safe. At 1:26 p.m., the BPD said one person was dead at the scene.

Charges will be filed at 3:30 p.m. on June 5 against Mohamed Sabry Soliman for the attack that occurred on June 1 on Pearl Street.

Community members are invited to meet the goats “hired” by the City of Boulder to help control invasive weeds and support healthy native plant communities at Harlow Platts Community Park on June 14.

The Broomfield Police Department released a summary of the recommendations suggested by the community for improvements in police operations, which were gathered during a community-wide listening tour last year. Action steps to support the recommendations will be announced this summer.
