Those with close contact to the student are being asked to quarantine and the school has undergone a deep sanitization and cleaning, according to a letter to parents from Principal Matt Buchler.

In Colorado, at least for the foreseeable future, the privately administered SAT isn’t going anywhere, despite longstanding criticisms that it hurts the prospects of low-income students of color. In a letter sent Sunday to Main Street families, the district stated “a person” at Main Street School has been diagnosed with COVID-19, requiring the quarantine.” The letter did not identify the person who was diagnosed or how many teachers will be quarantined.

Kristin Hefflon, the district’s Student Services coordinator, said counselors have formed a community to swap knowledge and expertise. All of which can be used to aid students who might fear going back to brick-and-mortar classrooms after a month of online learning.

The counselors are coming on board through a $930,899 grant from the Colorado Department of Education’s School Counselor Corps Grant Program. The three-year initiative will fund an additional full-time counselor at Skyline High, Trail Ridge Middle and Mountain View Elementary schools.

At a news conference Tuesday, governor and other officials warned children who return to school after taking time off may face a "major deficit."
