On Saturday, the group will hold a live public art installation — a human luminaria or “humanaria” — that aims to add some glow to Main Street. It is inviting people to make their own oversized luminarias and gather to line and light Main from 5 to 6 p.m. 

“Front Range Community College Student Show: Produced in Isolation,” the fourth annual juried student show from Front Range’s Boulder County Campus in Longmont, is on display until Jan. 3 at the Firehouse Art Center. An opening reception will be Friday.

Elaine Waterman, executive director at Firehouse, will host a virtual ugly sweater class on the art center’s Facebook page on Thursday. Sweater-making kits also are available for purchase.

As 2020 draws to a close, Longmont resident Andy Eppler is celebrating the release of “Broke-Down Deluxe” to cap off a year that has radically changed the lives of professional musicians across the globe.

The annual fundraiser featuring live musical performances and interviews with local personalities will be streamed on Facebook and Longmont Public Media, and also can be viewed on Comcast channels 8/880.

Boulder County District Attorney Michael Dougherty, Lafayette Police Operations Cmdr. David Self and Estes Park police Capt. Corey Pass will read the stories of people impacted by the racism and violence within the criminal justice system, said Torrie Eberhard, Motus Theater strategic communications and project manager.

What was originally scheduled to be an in-person holiday art pop-up to promote local artists at Tina Davis Studio in Longmont, was forced online because of rising COVID-19 cases.

All month long, the community is invited to virtually view and purchase art to help a local nonprofit provide continuing care for seniors.

Artist pop-ups at downtown businesses and art market at the Firehouse Art Center on tap. Artists can apply to set up a pop-up via the Longmont Creative District webpage.

Firehouse artist-members were instructed to follow the Inktober prompts and could choose to create work following all the prompts or just a few of them, as long as they were producing art for the exhibition.
