It is now free to take part in the watercolor series that starts today.

“Seen” features oil portraits of lesbians in her Rudlaff’s circle. The works depict subjects in a realist style against a white background, with all wearing masks for health and safety in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Longmont Museum's adult Art & Sip classes will go virtual starting this week with the first of three sessions on painting with watercolors. 

Saturday’s Longmont Main Street Chalk Festival was a part of a revamped Longmont ArtWalk Summer on the Streets series put on by the Firehouse Art Center. Instead of a giant event that shuts down vehicle traffic in the heart of downtown, smaller celebrations were scheduled on the sidewalks this year.

The Longmont Main Street Chalk Festival on Saturday will transform concrete into canvases for 15 local artists. Although observers won’t be able to draw on the sidewalks as they have in years past, people can watch the artists create their works and vote online for their favorite. And volunteers are still needed for the event, too.

The auction will include artwork from 17 international artists who have created pieces inside miniature walls designed by Longmont artist Regis Turocy, and then shrunk and photographed to create a virtual gallery.

Frequent Flyers' “Because the Sky is Blue” on Sept. 10 will be the Museum’s only in-person, ticketed performance event for the fall season.

“Through the program, our local creatives have stepped up to inject positive energy into our surroundings,” Art in Public Places administrator Angela Brill said.

Elliot Moore, the director of the Longmont Symphony, will "talk about great music with great musicians and put a lot of humor into the mix to keep it light and fun" in new series debuting this week.

Four artists present four mediums, but all share a vibrancy that can’t be ignored.
