A new season of Longmont Voices and Vision is to premiere Jan. 13, 2021.

People have until 5 p.m. Wednesday to enter their holiday sweaters into the fashion show. They can submit photos of sweaters created during the Firehouse's do-it-yourself class or enter photos of ugly holiday sweaters they already have for themselves, their kids and their pets.

The Museum can again host visitors after the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment last week amended a public health order to allow museums to operate at 25% of occupancy limit, not to exceed 25 people.

People who purchased tickets for the “Messiah” performance and season ticket holders, however, will still have the chance to enjoy a concert on Sunday by pianist Spencer Myer and baritone Mario Diaz-Moresco from New York City.

When volunteer and member Tracy Cravens died in January, Longmont Theatre Company members could not think of a better way to honor her memory than to redo the seats. They immediately began a GoFundMe campaign and raised more than $50,000 for the project. 

On Saturday, the group will hold a live public art installation — a human luminaria or “humanaria” — that aims to add some glow to Main Street. It is inviting people to make their own oversized luminarias and gather to line and light Main from 5 to 6 p.m. 

“Front Range Community College Student Show: Produced in Isolation,” the fourth annual juried student show from Front Range’s Boulder County Campus in Longmont, is on display until Jan. 3 at the Firehouse Art Center. An opening reception will be Friday.

Elaine Waterman, executive director at Firehouse, will host a virtual ugly sweater class on the art center’s Facebook page on Thursday. Sweater-making kits also are available for purchase.

As 2020 draws to a close, Longmont resident Andy Eppler is celebrating the release of “Broke-Down Deluxe” to cap off a year that has radically changed the lives of professional musicians across the globe.

The annual fundraiser featuring live musical performances and interviews with local personalities will be streamed on Facebook and Longmont Public Media, and also can be viewed on Comcast channels 8/880.
