The Longmont Observer will be hosting the third in its 2019 series of city council debates on Saturday, September 21st, in the Longmont Museum's Stewart Auditorium.

FRAUD An email phishing scam was reported by a local business in the 2100 block of Gay Street. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF A Weld County resident reported criminal mischief in the 2100 block of Highway 119.

The Sierra Club sent a questionnaire to all the candidate running for a Longmont City Council seat in 2019.

"The new bridge will be longer and the channel underneath deeper, the end result of which will be a bridge better able to withstand higher flood events than what we have today," said Tom Street of the City Public Works and Natural Resources Department.

Due to a nearly four hour Public Invited to Be Heard session which mostly heard the public's stance on the proposed Gun Safety Resolution by Councilmember Tim Waters, the discussion on the 2020 budget was tabled until the September 17 Longmont City Council Study Session.

The Longmont Library parking lot will be closed for asphalt rehabilitation and paving Thursday and Friday, Sept. 19-20.

No spraying will be conducted this week. Mosquito counts in all areas were below the threshold to trigger spraying.
