Colorado officials push back after DHS labels state and cities as sanctuary jurisdictions; Weld County removed from list following error, while debate continues amid Boulder attack.

The Longmont Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who was involved in an unprovoked assault and a physical altercation in the early morning hours of May 25, 2025.

Molly Tucker, 28, was arrested on Monday after being involved in five hit-and-run accidents and was charged with failure to present evidence of insurance, reckless driving, failing to remain at the scene of an accident, and driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.

A “Fresh Start Warrant Forgiveness Event” will occur on June 7, during which eligible participants with misdemeanor offenses will be able to speak with an attorney, resolve a case, or set a new court date.

Longmont detectives and the Boulder County Coroner’s Office are investigating a death at 21st and Main Street. There is currently limited information about the death but details will be made available as the investigation unfolds.

A man wielding a knife was shot and killed by an officer on Wednesday afternoon. An investigation is underway to determine whether or not the officer was justified in using force.

A Weld County jury determined this week that hotel staff was negligent in giving the assailant access to the victim’s room back in 2023.

Mark Switzer was sentenced to four years of prison on Friday due to his involvement in Nathan Combs’ suicide in 2017.

The circumstances surrounding a stabbing that occurred on May 10 at the intersection of Highway 287 and Midway Boulevard are still being investigated; stabbing victim was released from the hospital on Saturday.
