Two opposition groups, Coloradans Protecting Wildlife and the Colorado Cattlemen's Association, issued statements Thursday saying it appeared that the initiative would succeed.

Now that Election Day has come and gone, local groups are offering chances for people to debrief and look ahead, and mental health and lifestyle professionals are offering words of wisdom on how to best move past the anxiety.

As of early Wednesday morning, both measures were poised to pass.

The mill levy increase, Ballot Issue 7A, passed by a margin of 71% to 29% in Boulder County, according to unofficial election results posted at 12:36 a.m. Wednesday. That was more than enough pro votes to counter the opposite sentiments of the majority of 5,810 Weld County voters, who were against the measure 51% to 48%, according to results posted at 12:46 a.m. 

Boulder County voters are choosing two new commissioners this year with incumbents Deb Gardner and Elise Jones term-limited.

Voters in Longmont and beyond are choosing a new state senator and two new state representatives.

As of 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, 82% of active Boulder County voters and 76% of active Colorado voters had already cast their ballots, according to data from the Colorado Secretary of State’s Office. That made voting during Election Day a lot quieter than usual, Boulder County Clerk and Recorder Molly Fitzpatrick said.
